Search Facilities
Use Google and PubMed to find protein information
|
| |
Google is a particularly good search engine that provides relevant
hits, quickly. In the context of this site, you might it valuable
for finding information on proteins of interest.
Similar in concept to citation analysis used for scientific
literature, Google's strength lies in its ability to rank the
importance of sites depending on the number of other external sites
that link to it. In addition to counting the number of links
pointing to a page, Google also uses an iterative process to analyse
where those links are coming from, and gives more weight to those
coming from pages with a high "authority" rating. |
